Raven Athletics Student-Athletes of the Week - Sept. 25-Oct. 1

Across the board last week, the fall sports team representing Benedictine College went 7-0-1 on the week highlighted by an upset by the Men's Soccer team and a record-breaking scoring effort by the Football team.

This week's nominess include student-athletes from football, volleyball, men's soccer and women's soccer. This week's nominess are:

Football:
Offensive - Garrett Bader. Garrett anchored the offensive line that didn't allow a sack. In addition to keeping the Raven quarterbacks clean, Bader helped anchor a ground attack that rushed for 342 yards - the teams third 300-plus rushing effort this season.

Defensive - Luke Wozny. Wozny recorded two of the defenses season high six sacks in the win over Central Methodist. He finished with five tackles, an interception and a forced fumble.

Special Teams - Cole Holloway. Holloway was cited by head coach Larry Wilcox for his efforts in the Ravens kickoff coverage on Saturday.

Men's Soccer:
Offensive - Adam James. James scored all four goals in the Ravens 4-2 upset over No. 6 MNU last week. He finished the week with seven shots and six on goal as the Ravens went 2-0. For his efforts, he was also named the Heart Offensive Player of the Week.

Defensive: Gabriele Aprea. Aprea was a key figure on the Ravens back line defense on the week. Over two games, the Ravens limited their opponents to just 17 shots and seven shots on goal.

Women's Soccer:
Offensive - Anna Romano. Romano was cited by head coach Lincoln Roblee for creating many offensive attacks during the week. She finished the week with one goal and was the team leader in shots with 11 and had the second-most shots on goal with five.

Defensive - Hailey McEntee. McEntee was credited by Coach Roblee with solid play in the back. On the week, the Ravens limited their opponents to just six shots on goal while allowing just one goal over 180 minutes of action - which included a 4-0 shutout win over Clarke University on Saturday.

Volleyball:
Offensive - Fleur Wesselink. Wesselink continues to be the hot hand on the attack for the Ravens. She finished the week with 43 kills while hitting .279. She also added one solo block and two block assists. For her efforts during the Ravens 3-0 week, she was named the Heart Attacker of the Week.

Defensive - Haley Cochran. Cochran finished the week with 40 digs. She also added eight aces in nine sets as the Ravens finished the week 3-0 with sweeps over Avila, Clarke and Mount Mercy.
