Playing for just the second time at the new BC Softball Field, the Raven softball team earned a dramatic sweep over Tabor College on Saturday.
Benedictine (13-8) earned a walk-off win, 6-5 in the opener over Tabor (11-16) and then earned the sweep with a 6-2 win in game two.
After giving up two runs in the top of the seventh in game one, the Ravens rallied for the win in the bottom half of the inning as Alexis Richardson singled in Lindsey Profitt after Profitt doubled in the previous at bat.
In game two, the Ravens consistently attacked the Blue Jays at the plate scoring two runs in the first, second and fourth innings to earn the win.
Katie Ricklefs earned the win in the opener, throwing all seven innings for the Ravens. She gave up three earned runs off 10 hits with three strikeouts.
At the plate, the Ravens belted out 11 hits, anchored by the 3-for-4 effort of Richardson who also finished with three RBIs. Profitt added two hits while Chris Flucke also went 2 for 4.
Flucke and Megan Eldredge recorded doubles to go along with the double of Profitt while Richardson also tallied a triple.
In game two, Annie Turbyfill rebounded from a rough start on Friday against Park to earn the win. She threw all seven innings, giving up two runs off six hits with four strikeouts.
At the plate, Eldredge anchored the Ravens effort. She went 3 for 3 with three runs scored, three doubles and two RBIs. Profitt also went 3 for 3, scoring once and driving in two while Richardson added two hits.
The Ravens were scheduled to travel to St. Louis on Monday for a doubleheader against Missouri Baptist but those games have been postponed. They have off the week, traveling to Missouri Valley College for a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday.
