Laddie DeGrand, a former member of the Benedictine College Dance Team, has been hired as the new head coach for the Dance Team.
"We're excited to have Laddie come back to the program." said Benedictine Athletic Director Charlie Gartenmayer. "As a graduate of Benedictine she understands firsthand what it means to be a Raven and we look forward to what she will be bring to the Dance Team."
DeGrand graduated from Benedictine in 2014 with a Bachelor's of Arts in Mass Communications and Journalism. She currently works for Benedictine as an Assistant Director for Admissions.
"Although there were a lot of factors that attracted me to the position, what really drew me in was the idea of working closely with the girls on the team," Coach DeGrand said. "Each of these 24 girls has so much potential and a love for dance that I can definitely relate to. As an alumna of Benedictine and the Raven Dance Team myself, I remember the excitement and pride of being a part of the team throughout my college years. I hope to instill this pride in the future members of the Raven Dance Team."
DeGrand was a member of the Raven Dance Team for four years under former coach Stephanie Redd. While performing with the team, she also served as an instructor for the Raven School of Dance.
"I believe my background as a former member of the dance team will allow the girls to trust the vision I have for the future," Coach DeGrand said. "My experience and knowledge that I gained as a student myself will guide this team, and I am looking forward to leading these girls and representing our school in the best way possible for years to come."
