A quote from head coach Rob Herringer was read off during the presentation of the scholarship, it read. "Pete was an extremely competitive soccer player that could play any position on the field if called on. What Peter brought to the playing field was his passion for the game and his extraordinary will to win. But what he enjoyed the most, in the heat of the battle, was seeing his teammates playing at their highest competitive level. For Pete, it was always about the team."
Peter Clevinger was a four-year starter for the Ravens from 2006 through 2010 and was a integral part of the team that won the Heart of America Athletic Conference regular season championship in 2009. The 2009 team went on to represent Benedictine in the NAIA National Tournament that season in Fresno, Calif. Clevinger passed away in January of 2013.
