OLATHE – The No. 23-ranked MNU Pioneers limited the Raven Men's Basketball team to just 17 field goals on Saturday en route to a 81-52 win.
MNU (16-6, 10-4 Heart) limited Benedictine (12-8, 6-8 Heart) to just 33.3 percent from the field en route to earning the regular-season sweep over the Ravens.
After trading early baskets, the Ravens held a three-point lead over the Pioneers just five minutes into the game before MNU used a 13-2 run to pull in front of Benedictine 22-11 with nine minutes remaining in the first half.
The Pioneers finished the first half at 51.5 from the field to take a 41-26 lead into the break over the Ravens.
In the second half, after Jake Schannuth made the first basket of the half for the Ravens, the Pioneers continued to limit Benedictine defensively while continuing to hit on the offense end.
Benedictine did limit MNU to just two 3-pointers in the second half but the Pioneers made up for their lack of 3-point shooting from the charity stripe as they finished the second half hitting 10 of 13 free throws.
Benedictine returns home on Wednesday to host Missouri Valley College at 7:30 p.m. The Vikings earned an 83-68 win over the Ravens in Marshall, Mo., back on Dec. 2.
