The 2016 Heart of America Athletic Conference Indoor Track Championships concluded on Saturday with the Raven Women earning their first-ever Indoor Heart Championship.
This year's event was held at Doane College in Crete, Neb., and saw the Raven Women score 133.5 points to earn the championship on top of the 13-team field.
"This was an incredible weekend of competition for both the Men's and Women's Track & Field programs," said head coach Henry Brun. "I cannot express enough how proud the coaching staff is of the effort displayed in every event. The men fought hard for a quality Heart finish and were able to come away with some great achievements. The women truly had a magical weekend and they were able grind it out all the way to the last event to secure their first-ever team title. It is an honor to be a part of BC Athletics history."
The Raven Men scored 71 points to earn solid fifth-place finish.
The Raven Women finished with six event conference championships. Hannah Wondra won both the 600 meter and 800 meter along with being part of the 4x800 meter relay and Distance Medley relay championship teams. For her efforts over the two-day event, Wondra was named Femaie Track Athlete of the Meet.
Pinkerton, Katie Weaver, Wondra and Lucy Leighton round out the event championships winning the Distance Medley relay.
Benzing took second place in the 3,000 behind Dillard and in the process met the NAIA "B" Standard qualifying mark.

All-Conference Honorable Mention: Elise Buchman, Cassie Helena.
Coach Brun was named the 2016 Heart Women's Indoor Track Coach of the Year while assistant coach Rex Lane was named the 2016 Heart Women's Indoor Track Assistant Coach of the Year.
On the men's side, the Ravens earned two event championships and saw a new school record set.
Wallace was also part of the record-breaking performance in the 4x400 meter relay as he along with Phil Vutich, Jerel Rawls and John Caldwell took third place in the event but finished in a time of 3:26.61 to set a new school record.
