Raven Men's Lacrosse head coach Ben Coughlin has announced his schedule for the 2017 season.
The schedule features four home contests this season, three of which are Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference games.
"We're very pleased with the way the schedule turned out," Coach Coughlin said. "It is definitely more difficult than last year's schedule and that's what we want to do, we want to continually increase the difficulty of our schedule to help grow this program into a national contender. The schedule gives us great opportunities to advance this program. We've got three games against top 10 teams (from 2016) so there is opportunity to get into the top 10 this year which is a goal of ours. Two out of those three top 10 teams come to Atchison so that will help us out.
"Three out of our five conference games are at home and that will help us qualify for the KCAC tournament which is another goal of ours. We understand that this year we need to take the next step in our progression and this schedule we've put together will allow us to do that assuming we take care of business. The guys, and myself, are excited to being this new journey starting with fall practice. We want to improve a little bit every day and when it's all said and done I think we'll be able to see just how far we've come. Excitement and optimism is at an all-time high and it feels great."
Benedictine will open the season on the road Feb. 18 in Fulton, Mo., against NCAA Div. III Westminster College. They open their four-game home schedule agianst St. Ambrose University on March 4. Once again, the home schedule will be played at the BC Soccer Complex. The full schedule is available on the Men's Lacrosse Schedule Page.
