After going scoreless into the 90th minute of play, Raven forward Adam James made a break for the goal with an opportunity in hand to give Benedictine it's first goal of the night.
With his keep out of position, Avila University's Lane Richie dragged James down from behind in the box setting up a Penalty Kick for Benedictine. James took the chance and blasted it through the upper left side of the goal to give the Ravens a 1-0 advantage and then win.
Benedictine (2-2-1, 2-1 Heart) outshot Avila (0-8-1, 0-3 Heart) 12-7 while holding a 8-3 advantage in shots on goal.
Raven keeper Caleb Jenkins recorded two saves over his 90 minutes of play as he earned the shutout.
The Ravens remain at home Saturday for a non-con match at 7:30 p.m. against the University of Jamestown as the feature athletic event for Benedictine's annual Family Weekend.
