KANSAS CITY, Mo. – On the eve of the running of the annual NAIA Cross Country National Championships, the Association released the list of 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes for Cross Country.
Eight Ravens earned the academic honors for their efforts in the classroom this fall.
Andrew Doyle was among the 222 athletes to earn a spot on the Men's Cross Country Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete list.
Lauren Benzing, Elise Buchman, Katherine Dillard, Lucy Leighton, Sydney Moser, Katherine Ross and Kendra Stewart were among the 335 athletes to earn the Women's Cross Country Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete honor.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

The Women's race gets underway at 10:30 a.m. while the men's race gets underway at 11:30 a.m.
The Raven Women qualified as a team and are among the 36 teams and 88 individuals qualifiers competing on Saturday. Joseph Barnes qualilfied individually and will be representing the Raven Men in the field of 36 teams and 86 individual qualifiers competing in the men's race.
