KANSAS CITY, Mo. – With the conclusion of the 2016 Men's Soccer season, the National Soccer Coaches Assocation of America has released its annual postseason awards list and a member of the Raven Men's Soccer team has been recognized.
Caleb Jenkins earned a spot on the 2016 NSCAA NAIA Men's All-Midwest Region first-team for his efforts in goal this season for the Ravens.
Jenkins tallied 79 saves in 16 games in goal this season for head coach Miguel Rodrigues while recording over 1,318 minutes between the pipes. He finished the season with a 1.3 goals against average and a save percentage of .806. His 4.93 saves per game average ranked his inside the Top 50 in the NAIA.
The NSCAA postseason honors comes after Jenkins also earned first-team All-Heart honors this season.
Benedictine went 12-4-1 in the first season under Coach Rodrigues and finished second in the Heart, earning the second seed in the Heart Postseason Tournament.
They earned a spot in the NAIA rankings ove the final two weeks of the regular season as they climbed to No. 23 in both the Nov. 1 and Nov. 8 polls. They earned 51 points in the Postseason NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll released on Dec. 7 to earn the third spot in the others receiving votes category.
