Heading into the final match of the night, Thursday night's Raven Wrestling dual with NCAA Div II Truman State University was up for grabs.
After contesting eight matches, the two program were locked up in a tie with the 285-pound match winner giving his team the dual win. Truman State was able to earn the match win and take the dual over the Ravens, 25-21.
Trailing 9-0 after the 125-pound and 133-pound weight classes were contested, the Ravens rally began.
Dillan Scanlan earned a 9-1 decision at 141 pounds and Alejandro Gomez earned a win by fall at 149 pounds to erase the Ravens deficit and give them a 10-9 lead heading to the 157-pound weight class.
Tyler Mann earned a 8-2 decision at 157 pounds to extend the Ravens lead and give them their third straight match win of the night. Anthony Orozco followed that up with a tech fall – 19-3 at 165 pounds before Josh Romero earned a 9-4 decision at 174 pounds to extend Benedictine's lead to 21-9 with three matches remaining.
The Bulldogs earned wins by fall at 184 and 197 pounds to send the dual into a tie with just the heavyweight match remaining.
The program has off until Jan. 20 when they travel to Marshall, Mo, to take part in the annual Missouri Valley Invitational.
