CRETE, Neb. – The Raven Track & Field team returned to action on Saturday as they competed in the annual Scott Nisely Invitational hosted by Doane College.
No team scores were kept, but the Raven Women and Raven Men returned to the track with a solid meet.
The Raven Men earned two individual first-place finishes. John Danner a first-place finish in the Mile. He completed the event in a time of 4:27.41 to earn top honors and for his efforts, he earned the Heart Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honors on Monday. His time is the best indoor time in the Heart so far this indoor season by 15 seconds. In addition to Danner, Jarel Rawls won the 400 Meter Dash in a time of 50.79.
For the Raven Women, the team brought home two individual first-place finishes. Lucy Leighton won the Mile in a time of 5:27.74 while Elise Buchman earned a first-place finish in the 3,000 Meter Run with a time of 10:56.4.

3000 Meter: Elijah Green, fourth place
5000 Meter: Joseph Barnes, second place; Joseph Lynch, fourth place
4x800 Meter Relay: second place
Long Jump: Jeremiah Connealy, seventh place
The teams continue their indoor schedule on Jan. 27-28 with a trip to Lawrence to compete in the two-day Jayhawk Classic hosted by the University of Kansas.
