The Raven Track & Field Program returned to action on Saturday with athletes competing in Lawrence at the Jayhawk Classic and Pittsburg at the PSU Invitational.
In all two records fell with two athletes reaching the "A" Standard and one athlete meeting the "B" Standard to qualify for the NAIA Indoor National Championships in March in Johnson City, Tenn.
John Danner headlined the Jayhawk Classic competitors as he took fifth place overall in the 1,000 meter run. He won his session in a time of 2:32.34 to set a new indoor record at Benedictine while also meeting the "B" Standard to qualify for the NAIA Indoor National Championship. His time currently ranks him eighth overall in the NAIA.
Elise Buchman and Lucy Leighton headlined the PSU Invitational competitors in the 3,000 meter run. Buchman won her session of the event in a time of 10:24.10 and met the "A" Standard to qualify for the NAIA Indoor National Championships. She currently has the top time in the Heart and the seventh overall time in the NAIA. Leighton was close behind in a time of 10:25.36 and also met the "A" Standard. She is currently second in the Heart; currently eighth in the NAIA.
Danner added his second record of the weekend as he competed at PSU. He completed the Mile in a new school-record time of 4:23.48. That mark is also currently the best time in the event in the Heart.

The team is scheduled to compete in Warrensburg, Mo., on Feb. 4 in the annual Mule Relays hosted by the University of Central Missouri. The annual Heart Indoor Championships will be held in Jacksonville, Ill., on Feb. 10-11.
