CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Raven Women's Basketball team wrapped up their two-game swing through Iowa on Saturday with a 59-43 win over Mount Mercy University.
Benedictine (22-6, 21-3 Heart) secured the regular-season sweep over Mount Mercy (12-16, 9-15 Heart) after overcoming a slow first quarter.
The Mustangs held the Ravens to just nine points in the first quarter but from the second quarter on, Benedictine held a a 50-31 advantage en route to earning the 16-point win.
Benedictine finished the game a 37.3 percent from the field while holding Mount Mercy to just 31 percent from the floor and 13.6 percent from beyond the 3-point arc.
The Ravens return home for a 5:30 p.m. game on Wednesday as they take on William Penn University.
With two games remaining in the regular season, the Ravens have locked up the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Heart Postseason Tournament. The remaining eight seeds in the tournament are still up for grabs will seedings likely coming down to the final weekend of the regular season on Feb. 25.
