KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Raven Women's Basketball team was officially announced as a qualifier for the 2017 NAIA Div. I Women's Basketball National Championship, presented by Wells Fargo.
The trip to the National Tournament is the fourth qualification for the Ravens and their third straight trip as they prepare to head north to Billings, Mont.
Benedictine earned their trip as the Heart of America Athletic Conference regular-season runner up and is one of five teams from the Heart to earn a trip to this year's National Tournament.
The Ravens will serve as the No. 4 seed in the Liston Bracket and will play at 6:15 p.m. (MST) so, 7:15 local time. They will take on John Brown (Ark.) University in their first round game with the winner advancing to play at 8 p.m. (MST) on Friday.
Joining the Ravens in this year's tournament is Heart Championship Baker University, who earned the Hear's first automatic berth. Central Methodist University qualifed as the No. 10 at-large, MNU qualified as the No. 14 at-large and William Penn University qualified as the No. 16 at-large.
The Heart was equaled by the American Midwest Conference with the most berths into this year's National Tournament. In all, 25 of the 32 teams in this year's tournament are returners from the 2016 season.
