After dropping a tight game to Missouri Baptist University on Wednesday, 10-9, the No. 10-ranked Raven Women's Lacrosse team bounced back on Thursday with a 10-3 win over Lindenwood Univeristy-Belleville.
Against MBU, the Spartans used a six-goal second half to overcome a 6-4 halftime deficit and earn the upset over the Ravens.
Caitlyn Chickey led the Ravens with four goals and one assist. Kasey Moore added two goals while Clare Hanson, Emily Ruhland and Mackenzie Roach scored a goal each. Marianna Brown and Ruhland also recorded assists.
Taryn St. Louis finished the game with seven saves in goal.
Benedictine held a 28-21 advantage in shots and a 22-17 advantage in shots on goal. The Spartans came up with 10 saves in the second half to limit the Ravens to just three second-half goals.
On Thursday, the Ravens used a six-goal first half to blow the game open en route to a seven-goal win.
The Ravens finished with a 21-14 advantage in shots and a 11-8 advantage in shots on goal. Chickey led the way with three goals while Mary McEnerney and Chiara Petruccelli added two goals each. Brown, Hanson and Moore scored a goal each while Moore finished with three assists. Brown, Ruhland and Jenna Boh were also credited with assists.
St. Louis finished the game with five saves over 60 minutes in goal as Benedictine limited LU-Belleville to just eight shots on goal. The Ravens finished with a 21-14 advantage in shots while LU-Belleville committed 24 turnovers.
Benedictine continues their Spring Break road trip, traveling to Indiana to take on Marian University in Indianapolis on Saturday at Noon.
