The (RV) Raven Men's Lacrosse team took to their home field on Saturday for the first time since March 4 and walked away with their second home win of the season as they earned a 19-5 non-conference win over Lindenwood Univeristy-Belleville.
Benedictine (4-4) outshot LU-Belleville (0-2) 56-18 en route to the commanding win to move back to .500 on the season.
Benedictine's offense was paced by Brendan Boh. Boh scored a game-high six goals off 14 shots while recording an assist. Peter Girard added three goals followed by Remy Dujakovich, Patrick Schmitt, Ryan Heinser and Grant Mallett with two goals each. Daniel Lagenfeld and Paul Meihaus also scored a goal each. Schmitt finished with six assists while Girard added two. Tyler Santini and Heinser added one each to go with Boh's.
The Ravens jumped out to an early 6-0 lead over the Lynx before LU-Belleville was able to outscore Benedictine 4-2 in the second quarter to send the game into halftime with the Ravens leading 8-4.
Benedictine answered with a seven-goal third quarter to put the game out of reach en route to the 14-goal win.
Defensively, the Ravens held the Lynx to just nine shots on goal as they finished with 30-9 advantage. Vance Howerton earned the win in goal for the Ravens. He finished with four saves over 60 minutes in goal for Benedictine. LU-Belleville committed 24 turnovers during the game with Benedictine recording 12 caused turnovers.
The Ravens remain at home for their next two games. First up, a 7 p.m. showdown on Wednesday night with NAIA No, 1 Missouri Valley College. They wrap up their home schedule on Saturday with a 3 p.m. game against KCAC opponent Clarke University.
