WICHITA – For the second time this year, the Raven Women's Lacrosse team has been recognized by the KCAC for their efforts on the field.
Mary McEnerney and Taryn St. Louis have been named the KCAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week for their efforts in wins over Missouri Valley College and Clarke University last week.
McEnerney anchored the Ravens offense on the week as they remained undefeated in KCAC play. She scored three goals in Benedictine's overtime win over Missouri Valley College on Wednesday and then backed that up with seven goals and three assists in the Ravens commanding win over Clarke on Saturday.
She currently has 19 goals this season for the Ravens and currently ranks fourth in the NAIA in shots per game at 8.2. The KCAC honor is the first career honor for McEnerney. She is currently the Ravens second-leading goal scorer.
St. Louis earned two wins on the week to help keep the Ravens undefeated in KCAC play. She finished the week with 15 saves as the Ravens earned an overtime win over Missouri Valley on Wednesday and a commanding win over Clarke on Saturday.
She recorded seven saves in the win over Valley and added eight in the win over Clarke in just under 45 minutes in goal.
This week's honors marks the second for St. Louis after she was named the first Defensive Player of the Week back on Feb. 28.
Benedictine is currently 7-2 overall and 4-0 in the KCAC with two games remaining in conference play. They travel to Denver on Friday and Saturday taking on Johnson & Wales University in KCAC play on Friday before taking on the University of Dallas on Saturday. They wrap up the regular season on April 8 with a KCAC match up with Midland University at 1 p.m. on campus.
