The Raven Track & Field team competed in the annual Darrel Gourley Open on Saturday, but due to the meet falling on Easter Weekend, the team competed with a limited number of athletes.
That didn't stop Keishonda Rose on the women's side. She set new school records in the 100 meter and 200 meter while hitting the NAIA "B" Standard in the 100 meter with a time of 12.11.
Her 100 meter time sets a new conference-best mark while her 200 meter time gives her the third-best time in the conference this season. Saturday marked the second straight week that Rose was able to set a new mark in the 200 meter.
Overall, the Raven Women took 13th while the Raven Men placed sixth.
Other top finishes for the Raven women included a second-place finish for Bailey Strine in the javelin with a throw of 112' 10". The Women's 4x100 relay of Rose, Megan Quigley, Cassie Helena and Sarah Lucas placed third with a time of 50.12. Lucas took fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 34' 8.5" while Rose took fifth in both the 100 and 200 meters.
On the men's side Andrew Kaiser was the top finisher with a second-place time in the 3000 Steeplechase as he completed the race in 10:10.11. John Danner took third place in the 1,500 meter with a time of 4:02.13 while Jarel Rawls placed third in the 400 meters with a time of 49.8.
