LEAVENWORTH – The top-seeded Raven Women's Lacrosse team advanced to their second straight KCAC Tournament Championship on Thursday with a 20-10 win over fourth-seeded Clarke University.
Benedictine (11-2) scored 10 goals in each half en route to their win as they moved on in postseason play over Clarke (4-7).
Three Ravens led the way offensively as Lizzie Darrow, Caitlyn Chickey and Mary McEnereny finished with five goals each. Marianna Brown and Chiara Petruccelli scored two goals each. Clare Hanson added a goal to round out the scoring. Kacey Moore finished with three assists while Brown and McEnerney added two each. Darrow, Chickey and Chiara Petrucelli added an assist each.
Benedictine outshot Clarke 36-26 with a four-shot advantage in each half.
Clarke finished with 31 turnovers as the Ravens recorded 16 caused turnovers. Moore led the defensive effort with five caused turnovers while Brown finished with three.
Teresa Petruccelli earned the start in goal and played the first half recording seven saves while giving up give goals. Taryn St. Louis played the second half in goal and finished with three saves while giving up five goals.
Benedictine takes on Ottawa University at 1 p.m. Saturday for the right to move on to the 2017 NAIA Women's Lacrosse National Invitational Tournament. Ottawa advanced to the championship game with a 16-4 over Midland University. The match up between the Ravens and the Braves will mark the second straight meeting between the two schools in the KCAC Championship game.
