LEAVENWORTH – The Raven Men's Lacrosse team took to Charles J. Berkel Memorial Stadium for the second time this season as they took on No. 1-ranked and top-seeded Missouri Valley College on the campus of the University of St. Mary.
Benedictine (5-7) matched Missouri Valley (13-1) for the first quarter before the Vikings scored 14 unanswered to pull away from the Ravens en route to a 21-5.
The appearance for the Ravens in the KCAC Tournament marked a program first under second-year head coach as Benedictine earned the fourth seed in this years tournament.
Missouri Valley proved to be too much for the Ravens on offense. The Vikings outshot Benedictine 56-23 as Missouri Valley finished with 31 shots on goal.
Zach McGuff and Vance Howerton split time in goal for the Ravens with McGuff suffering the loss. He gave up 15 goals with four saves over the first 36 minutes while Howerton finished with six saves while giving up six goals over the final 24 minutes.
Chris Gerken led the defense with four caused turnovers as the Ravens finished with a total of five.
