Benedictine College Athletic Director Charlie Gartenmayer has announced the resignation of men's lacrosse head coach Ben Coughlin effective immediately.
"We are indebted to Coach Coughlin for his role laying the foundation for men's lacrosse at Benedictine College," Gartenmayer said. "We wish him well as he moves on from his time as a Raven."
Coach Coughlin was the first varsity men's lacrosse coach in program history, hired on to build the program from scratch in February of 2015.
In two seasons as head coach, he compiled an overall record of 10-15 while qualifying for the KCAC Postseason Tournament for the first time this past April.
Benedictine College lacrosse is an associate member of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference within the NAIA. Men's Lacrosse finished it's second year of NAIA Invitational status earlier this month as it continues to move closer to becoming an official NAIA championship sport.
A national search for the next Men's Lacrosse head coach will begin immediately with no time table set on the search.
