Benedictine Men's Basketball Head Coach Ryan Moody announced the addition of six incoming players for the 2017-2018 season on Wednesday with the release of his recruiting class.
The six-member class consists of four incoming freshmen and two transfers.
"I think our staff did a great job of finding young men that fit our needs on the court and are excellent additions to Benedictine College," Moody said. "We added some experience, size and athleticism. We have a hungry and talented group of young men returning and the combination of the two helps now and into the future."
Christian Noskey – Wing–6-6/200 – Tampa, Fla. (Seffner Christian HS): Noskey averaged 6.8 ppg, 5.0 rpg and 1.0 assists and helped lead his team to a 24-7 record and an appearance in the Florida Class 4A State Championship Final Four. Seffner Christian finished as District Champions, Regional Champions and Noskey was named a Tampa Bay Basketball Coaches Association All-Academic All-Star.
Coach Moody on Christian: "Christian is a smart and skilled multi-position player. He can shoot the three pointer and has good athleticism. He will be able to play both the wing and forward position. He brings a tremendous work ethic and basketball IQ.
Eric Krus – Forward– 6-7/215 – St. Louis, Mo. (St. John Vianney HS): Krus averaged 18.1 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 1.4 steals and 1.6 blocks and helped lead Vianney HS to a 13-14 record in the tough St. Louis Metro Catholic Conference. Krus joined the 1000-point club his senior year and is the only player in Vianney HS history to have over 100 three pointers and 100 blocks in a career. He was named 1st Team Metro Catholic Conference, 1st Team Class 5 District , and the MVP of the Bank of O'Fallon Shootout. Krus was named a St. Louis Post-Dispatch Scholar Athlete and is a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish and Science National Honor Society.
Coach Moody on Eric: "Eric can offensively play inside and outside. He is a tremendous 3-point shooter and can multiple positions. Eric is an excellent defender and has great timing to block shots. He is long, skilled and tough. He is another player with a high basketball IQ."
Saxton Thuston – Wing – 6-2/175 – St. Joseph, Mo. (Benton HS): Thuston averaged 18.5 ppg 11.6 rgp and 1.7 assists and helped lead Benton HS to a 18-8 record and an appearance in the Class 4 District 16 Championship game. He finished his career at Benton with over 1000 points. Thuston was named 1st Team Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Class 4 All-State, 1st Team Midland Empire Conference, 1st Team All-City and 1st Team St Joseph News Press and the St Joseph News-Press City Player of the Year. He was also named to the Greater Kansas City Coaches Association Missouri All-Star Team and the Missouri Challenge NWMO All-Star Team.
Coach Moody on Saxton: "Saxton brings speed, athleticism and toughness to every possession. He finishes around the rim better than most and has an uncanny ability to rebound the ball. He can score and defend against bigger opponents. He is a great teammate and understands the game."
Jaiden Bristol – Guard – 6-0/170 – St. Joseph, Mo. (Central HS): Bristol averaged 16 ppg, 7 rpg, 3 assists and 3 steals and helped lead his team to the second round of the Class 5 District 16 tournament and a 21-7 record. Bristol is a 1000-point scorer at Central HS and was named Team MVP, 1st Team All-District 16, 1st Team All-City, 1st Team All-KC Suburban Conference-Red, 1st Team St Joseph News Press, 1st Team Northwest Missouri Region. He was also named to the Greater Kansas City Coaches Association Missouri All-Star Team and the Missouri Challenge NWMO All-Star Team.
Coach Moody on Jaiden: "Jaiden influences the game in so many ways as a lead guard. He can score at multiple levels, can rebound to start the break, has a great feel and gets others involved with his passing. He can defend on the ball and is another great teammate with a high IQ.
Boris Rajovic – Post – 6-10/250 – Danilovgrad, Montenegro (Missouri Western State University): Rajovic averaged 3.3 ppg and 2.0 rpg in 12 minutes per game for MWSU in 2016-17. Prior to MWSU Rajovic played two years for Coach Dan Anderson at Northeast Community College in Norfolk NE.
Coach Moody on Boris: "Boris is a skilled big man. He takes up space, can rebound, can contest and block shots but he is also skilled offensively. He can shoot it to the 3pt line and can score down low. He runs the floor and brings a great personality and experience to the program."
Reshardd Harris – Wing – 6-6/195 – Detroit, Mich. (Southwest Oklahoma State University): Harris averaged 8.8 ppg and 4.5 rpg while starting 16 games for SWOSU and averaging 20 minutes in 2016-17. Prior to SWOSU Harris played for at Sinclair Community College in Dayton OH. At Sinclair Harris earned several accolades including; NJCAA Division II First Team All-American and the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference Player of the Year. He averaged 17.5 ppg and 8.9 rpg for Sinclair CC.
Coach Moody on Reshardd: "Reshardd is an athletic slasher and rebounder who excels attacking the basket in transition, in the half court and on the back board. He has toughness and a great motor. He can play and defend multiple positions and gives us many line-up options."
