The Raven Baseball program and head coach Anthony Everman has announced the addition of utility player Hunter Ostertag, and catcher/right-handed pitcher Gary Crist for the upcoming season.
Ostertag is a 5'9" 160 pound utility player from Lancaster. He graduated from Atchison County Community High School where he played football, baseball, and was a two-time state champion wrestler. Hunter hit .464 during his high school career and earned First Team All Big Seven as a catcher this past spring.
Coach Everman on Ostertag: "We are excited to add Hunter to our program for this upcoming school year. Hunter was a highly competitive mulit-sport athlete in high school and will benefit from getting to focus on baseball full time. His work ethic and toughness will be a great addition to this team."
Crist is a 6'2" 220 pound catcher/right-handed pitcher from Falcon, Colo., where he graduated from Falcon High School. This spring Crist hit .348 with five doubles and two home runs for the Falcons, and was also 5-2 with a 3.00 ERA on the mound earning him Second Team All Pikes Peak Athletic Conference honors.
Coach Everman on Crist: "Gary is a physical two way player that has seen success on both sides of the ball. He knows how to handle a pitching staff, and is a tremendous blocker behind the plate. On the mound he is as competitive as it comes. We are looking forward to the tools that Gary will bring to the program."
