Benedictine College Athletic Director Charlie Gartenmayer has announced the promotion of Michael Faucett to Associate Athletic Director and Josh Pound to Assistant Athletic Director.
"I am extremely excited to make this announcement," Gartenmayer said. "During the past ten years, Benedictine College and Raven Athletics have experienced unprecedented success on the field of competition, in the classroom, in the community and in the spiritual development of our student-athletes. Mike and Josh are role modeling the mission of Benedictine College, educating men and women in a community of faith and scholarship, by their leadership, passion for excellence, professionalism and hard work to ensure that fans, parents, alumni and most importantly, our student-athletes, enjoy as many memorable experiences as possible during the time on our campus."
Faucett transitioned from a student-athlete to a graduate assistant for the men's soccer program in 2005. He begin full-time with the Raven Athletic Department in 2008 when he was named the Assistant Athletic Director.
He works with several areas of the department, running the day-to-day operations and is the tournament director for the Raven Golf Classic. In addition to this work with the athletic department, he is also an adjunct professor in the English as a Second Language Program.
In his role as SID, Pound was served as the primary media contact for all 17 sports within the Raven Athletic Department. In his tenure as SID, the Raven Nation was created to help promote Raven Athletics and the Benedictine Raven Sports Network was created to generate more coverage of the varsity sports on campus.
"I look forward to watching both of these men continue their professional development at Benedictine College in their new roles," Gartenmayer added.
