The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association released the 2017 Zag Sports NAIA Academic Honor Roll on Wednesday and Caitlyn Chickey was among the 23 student-athletes named to the team.
Chickey, who graduated in May, was a key member of the Raven Women's Lacrosse program and head coach Amanda Magee over the past two years, was the only member on the team from the KCAC.
To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
The academic honor was the third this season for Chickey. She was named a 2017 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete in May and in June she was one of four members of the Raven Women's Lacrosse program to earn All-KCAC Scholar Athlete honors.
The women's lacrosse team went 11-3 overall in 2017 while posting a 6-0 mark in the KCAC to win the outright regular-season KCAC Championship and the program's second overall KCAC Championship in just two years as an intercollegiate sport at Benedictine.
