HASTINGS, Neb. – The season continued for the No. 3 Raven Women's Soccer team on Friday and Saturday as they traveled to Hastings for a pair of non-conference matches.
Friday, the Ravens earned a 4-3 win over No. 14 Hastings before wrapping up the trip to a 1-0 golden goal win over the University of Jamestown on Saturday.
After Hastings struck first during the second minute of play, the Ravens scored on a pair of goals from Abbie Hair during the 13th minute and the 22nd minute. Tori Sanders and Emily Ambuul were credited with assists on the Hair goals.
Those two goals gave the Ravens a 2-1 advantage at the half before Anna Romano pushed the Ravens advantage to two goals with a goal during the 52nd minute off Sanders' second assist of the match.
The Broncos scored two straight goals during the 55th and 60th minute to pull even with the Ravens setting up the game-winner from McEntee.
Benedictine finished with a 12-4 advantage in shots on goal with Ellen Loughman picking up the win, playing all 90 minutes in goal.
On Saturday, Jamestown packed it in defensively against the Ravens. The Jimmies didn't attempt a shot in the first half and only attempted four shots in the second half as the Ravens finished with a 20-4 advantage.
Romano led the attack with seven shots, five on goal, while Nicole Kelly gave the Ravens a spark off the bench with four shots, four on goal.
The match ended during the 96th minute on an own-goal by Jamestown whn Dianne Miranda pushed the ball into her own net.
The Ravens are off this week before returning to the road Saturday to open conference play in Fayette, Mo., against Central Methodist University. The match is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
