The Raven Cross Country teams returned to action on Saturday as they competed in the annual Woody Greeno Invitational in Lincoln, Neb.
While the Ravens competed in the combined Div. III, Div. III, NAIA and Junior College division, they also competed against several Div. I schools as they competed on the 6,000 meter women's course and 8,000 meter men's course.
The Raven Men placed fourth out of 12 teams while the Raven women placed fourth out of 13 teams competing in the race.
The Raven Women were paced by Katherine Dillard, who took seventh place in a time of 23:21.3, which was good for a 35th overall finish in a field of 188 runner across all five divisions. Melanie Cozzi (15th), Sarah White (20th), Katie Ross (39th), Maria Doyle (42nd) and Page Case (47th) rounded out the top finishers for the Raven women.
The Raven Men were led by Elijah Green, who placed 17th in a time of 27:49.8. The entire field of runners on the men's side across all five divisions was 170 with Green's time placing him 69th overall. In addition to Green, Joseph Barnes (22nd), Liam Morel (27th), Daniel LaPlante (33rd, Matthew Mason (37th), Andrew Kaiser (47th), Sebastian Fuentes-Branas (51st) and Liam Keating (61st) rounding out a tight group of men's finishers for the Ravens.
Both teams are in action on Friday as they travel to Emporia to compete at 5:15 p.m. (women) and 6 p.m. (men) at Emporia State University.
