The Raven Volleyball team squared off Tuesday night for the second time against Central Methodist University as the two teams continued to fight for one of the top five spots in the Heart South.
Central Methodist (10-8, 6-3 Heart) earned the regular-season sweep over Benedictine (13-6, 6-5 Heart) as the Eagles swept the Ravens 3-0 inside the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium.
The Ravens hit .324 in the opening set, but couldn't find an answer for CMU's attack as the Eagles hit .469 to take first set, 25-22. Benedictine rallied from a 23-18 deficit to pull within two before the Eagles took the match by three points.
In the second set, Benedictine was held to just nine kills as Central Methodist jumped ahead 6-0 and never looked back to earn a 25-15 win.
Facing their first sweep in Heart play, the Ravens rebounded in set three for 10 kills but couldn't overcome eight attacking errors as they converted on just .061 at the net.
Defensively, the Ravens only had one player reach double figures in digs as Abby Brown finished with 14. At the net, the Ravens finished with three team blocks. Stewart and Rahmanzai led the front-line defense with two block assists each.
The Ravens continue their home stand on Friday night at 7 p.m. as they host Peru State College in their annual Dig Pink Match.
