KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the second straight week, and the third time this season, a member of the Raven Volleyball team has earned weekly Heart volleyball honors.
Fleur Wesselink was named the Heart Attacker of the Week for the second straight week on Monday when the Heart released this past week's award winners.
The Ravens wrapped up a seven-match home stand on Saturday with a comeback win over Graceland University to finish the home stand at 6-1. They went 2-1 last week with Wesselink leading the offensive attack.
Wesselink finished the week with 50 kills over 13 sets for an average of 3.8 per set. She converted her attacks at .310 and added 11 digs and two block assists on the week. She also contributed to the Ravens 25 service aces on the week with four.
She recorded a season-high 22 kills in the Ravens rally against Peru State on Friday night. That came between a 15-kill effort against Central Methodist on Tuesday and a 13-kill effort on Saturday in the Ravens five-set win over Graceland University.
Of the 20 matches she has played in so far this season, she has registered double figures in kills in 17 and has finished with 12 or more kills in 14 – which includes a streak of five straight matches.
Her 3.8 kills per set leads the Heart while she ranks sixth in the Heart in attack percentage at .291 and is tied for fifth in total kills with 286.
The Ravens hit the road on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. match in Olathe against MNU. The Pioneers won the first meeting with the Ravens 3-1 back on Sept. 5.
