DES MOINES – The Raven Women's Soccer team took to the road on Wedensday to take on Grand View University.
Benedictine (8-2-2, 3-2-2 Heart) outshot Grand View (7-6, 4-3 Heart) but a goal with 36 seconds left in the match earned the Vikings a 2-1 upset win over the Ravens.
Grand View led 1-0 at the half before Benedictine was able to score their lone goal during the 65th minute of play. Emily Ambuul scored an unassisted goal on a break away to pull the Ravens even.
The Vikings scored the game winner during the on an unassisted goal of their own during the 90th minute to hand the Ravens their second loss in Heart play.
Benedictine finished the match with a 23-7 advantage in shots and a 9-4 advantage in shots on goal.
Ellen Loughman played all 90 minutes in goal for the Ravens finishing with two saves.
The Ravens return home for a 5 p.m. match on Saturday as they host Culver-Stockton College in their annual Breast Cancer Awareness match. Saturday's game will be streamed on BRSNtv.
