The Raven women's soccer team scored three times in the first half on Saturday as they earned a shutout win over Baker University in the middle of a Family Weekend triple header.
Benedictine (10-1-0, 1-0-0 Heart) struck early and then shut down Baker (7-4-0, 0-1-0 Heart) to earn a solid 3-0 win over the Wildcats.
It didn't take the Ravens long to strike, scoring during the second minute of play. Jordan Francescon drew the defenses attention and then fed Maggie Hair who converted Benedictine's first goal of the match.
Benedictine added to their lead during the 17th minute when Francescon played in a corner that was headed in by Rosie McShane to extend the Ravens lead to 2-0.
During the 22nd minute, Francescon again factored in on the Ravens scoring effort as she found Bridget Brotherton who found the back of the net on a strike from the top of the box.
Ashley Holland earned her sixth shutout of the season, going all 90 minutes in goal while recording three saves.
Benedictine hits the road on Oct. 11 for a 5 p.m. match in Marshall, Mo., against Missouri Valley College. The No. 24-ranked Vikings earned a 3-1 win on Saturday against Graceland University.
