After trading wins in the first two sets on Tuesday night, No. 16 Evangel University held off the Raven volleyball team inside the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium to earn a 3-1 win over the Ravens.
Benedictine (13-10, 3-2 Heart) dropped the opening set 25-17 but then rallied from behind to take set two over Evangel (17-5, 4-1 Heart), 25-23, before the Crusaders took the final two sets of the match, 25-18 and 25-19.
Benedictine converted a match high .256 offensively in the second set, which allowed them to overcome an early deficit and rally to push the match to at least four sets.
Evangel hit .435 in set three and wrapped up the match with a .211 attack in set four to earn the win.
Defensively, Lauren Eggen led the way with 14 digs while Jamie Navinskey added 13 digs. Moura added 11 digs while Clark finished with 10. At the net, Fulcher finished with two block assists to round out the defensive effort.
Benedictine remains at home Thursday with a non-con match against Friends University at 7 p.m. The JV will also square off at 5:30 with both matches scheduled for broadcast on BRSNtv.
